33-year-old man charged after trying to sexually assault teen in hospital waiting room

Maximino Manuel Reyes has been taken into custody

SAN ANTONIO – A 33-year-old man who had been detained for mental health issues has now been arrested after he allegedly attempted to sexually assault a child at a behavioral health hospital.

Maximino Manuel Reyes has been taken into police custody.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Reyes allegedly walked into a video recorded waiting room at the San Antonio Behavioral Health Care Hospital where a 13-year-old girl was patiently waiting and began assaulting her.

Police said Reyes left the room only to return a short while later and exposed himself, right before again trying to assault her.

Reyes was seen leaving the waiting room and the victim was found curled up in a corner by hospital staff, police said.

The affidavit said the victim told officials what happened and that the video cameras captured Reyes attempting the assault.

Reyes now faces a charge of attempted aggravated sexual assault of a child. It is unclear, however, if the hospital will face any repercussions as a result of the assault.
