A limited edition brisket-scented candle for Christmas?

SAN ANTONIO – Nothing says you’re a Texan like giving the barbecue lover in your life a whiff of Texas by gifting them a limited edition, smoked brisket-scented candle. 

For a limited run of 1,000 candles, Rudy’s Country Store and Bar-B-Q is selling the “Texas smoked brisket-scented candles” on its website for $17.99 just in time for Christmas.

The well-known Texas barbecue joint -- founded in 1989 in the small town of Leon Springs, just outside San Antonio -- said it brought the 16-ounce candle into reality after coming up with the idea originally as an April Fools' joke.

Well, the jokes are still on for the people who actually think they’re walking into a home with brisket sitting on the table -- don't mind the smell, that's just the candle working.

So move aside cinnamon, pine, peppermint and all the rest of the self-proclaimed scents of Christmas. Brisket is the new smell for Santa.
