SAN ANTONIO - Jordan Phillips, 24, is accused of running from a San Antonio police officer who tried to stop him for speeding. However, it appears he didn’t run far enough. Police arrested him Thursday on a charge of evading arrest.
An arrest warrant affidavit stated that an officer noticed a motorcycle coming up behind him, speeding, as he drove on Interstate 35 North near Weidner Road. The officer said after the bike passed him, he checked the license plate and realized the motorcycle had an expired registration.
The affidavit stated that the officer then tried to stop the biker, but he drove off, weaving in and out of traffic. Along the way, the biker removed a baggie from his waistband and threw it onto the highway, the affidavit stated.
The man on the motorcycle was able to get away, although the officer did get a good look at him, the affidavit stated.
Later, police determined that the motorcycle belonged to Phillips. The affidavit stated that the officer also was able to positively identify him as the man who fled from him.
The affidavit does not mention what was in the baggie or if police ever recovered it.
