Woman killed in shooting at southeast San Antonio home identified; husband charged Victim identified as Janice Holland, 82; her husband has been charged with murder

SAN ANTONIO – A woman who police said was shot and killed by her husband at their home on the city’s Southeast Side has been identified.
The victim was identified as Janice Holland, 82, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
The woman’s husband, George Holland, 89, has been charged with murder in connection with Thursday’s shooting in the 100 block of Mendoza Street .
According to booking records, George Holland shot his wife several times. He was the only one with her in the home when the victim was discovered by neighbors, who were allowed into the home after they went to check on the couple.
A motive hasn’t been established, but a police spokesman said the couple had health issues, but wasn’t specific on what type.
