SAN ANTONIO – A new list that ranks the best public high schools in the San Antonio area has been released for 2023.
The list was curated by Niche, a data analytics company that conducts reviews and surveys to determine rankings for educational institutions, like public schools, private schools and school districts.
Here is Niche’s list of the top 10 high schools in the San Antonio area by rank:
The list differs slightly from last year’s rankings with BASIS San Antonio moving from third place to first.
School of Science & Technology San Antonio was not listed on the 2022 rankings for best high schools.
According to Niche’s website, the rankings were most heavily determined based on academic proficiency in state assessments and survey responses on academics from students and parents.
Racial and economic diversity and survey responses on school culture and diversity from students and parents were also factored into the rankings.
Teacher salary, teacher absenteeism and survey responses on teachers from students and parents were also considered.
