Man slashed several times in knife attack near motel downtown, SAPD says

Incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. in the 900 block of South Frio Street

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching downtown trying to find a man who attacked someone with a knife early Friday morning.

The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. in the 900 block of South Frio Street, not far from Guadalupe Street and Interstate 10.

According to police, a man in his 20s or 30s suffered non-life-threatening injuries after he was cut several times by another man. The victim told officers he got into a disagreement with the man, but didn’t know why he was upset because he didn’t speak Spanish.

Police said the victim, who lives in a limo outside a nearby funeral home, made his way across the street to the River Inn Motel, where he knocked on the door of a friend’s room for help. He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where he’s expected to recover.

SAPD said they are now looking for both the assailant and a woman, who is believed to be a witness.

The investigation into the attack is ongoing, police said.
