SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating after a man was stabbed during an altercation on the city’s Southeast Side early Thursday morning.

The incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. in the 1800 block of Goliad Road, not far from Clark Avenue and Hot Wells Boulevard.

According to police, a 25-year-old man had gotten into a fight with another man in a gray hoodie near a dollar store and was stabbed.

A preliminary police report states the victim was attempting to take back his belongings from the man at a homeless encampment behind the building when the argument happened.

Police said the victim walked up the street to a nearby car wash where a man was cleaning his car and asked him to call for help. The injured man was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where he’s expected to recover.

SAPD said the suspect fled the scene and has not been found.
