A large grass fire near South San Antonio High School has prompted all students and staff to evacuate the area on Thursday afternoon, according to school officials. (KSAT)

SAN ANTONIO – A large grass fire near South San Antonio High School has prompted all students and staff to evacuate the area on Thursday afternoon, according to school officials.

The fire was contained by the San Antonio Fire Department and San Antonio police, according to an Instagram post from the school.

All students and staff were relocated to the athletic center for the time being, officials said.

Bus pick-up for students was moved to the athletic center as well.

Details on the fire are limited, but KSAT has a crew en route to the scene to learn more.
