According to the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, Corley made an unannounced visit on May 24, 2021, to the apartment of a former girlfriend to see his daughter. When the child’s mother answered the door, Corley forced his way into the unit and encountered her boyfriend, Delon Lamont Weaver, 24.

After a confrontation, Corley pulled Weaver down the stairs of the apartment complex and shot him in the back right shoulder. Police found Weaver lying on the sidewalk of the apartment complex.

He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

During the punishment phase of the trial, prosecutors also presented evidence of Corley’s prior convictions for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, robbery, and terroristic threat of a family member.
