Motorcyclist hospitalized after being hit by vehicle on I-10, police say (KSAT)

SAN ANTONIO – A 20-year-old motorcyclist is in the hospital and a driver has been arrested following a crash on Interstate 10 late Wednesday night, according to San Antonio police.

The crash happened around 11 p.m. in the 15200 block of I-10 West southbound, not far from the University of Texas at San Antonio and Loop 1604, on the city’s Northwest Side.

According to police, the motorcyclist was struck from behind by a BMW, throwing the man.

The man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital, with possible life-threatening injuries. A preliminary police report states he is in critical, but stable condition.

Police said the male driver of the vehicle was detained by officers and assessed for a possible DWI. The driver was arrested and booked for intoxication assault, police said.

The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all responded to the call.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, police said.
