Authorities have accused Trevino of attempting to provide paper sheets with synthetic cannabinoids to an inmate at the Karnes County Detention Facility, which is located approximately 55 miles from downtown San Antonio.

Federal agents from the U.S. Marshals, FBI and Drug Enforcement Association obtained a warrant for Trevino’s arrest, according to a U.S. Marshals news release.

“Correctional officers are held to a high standard of trust and integrity,” Susan Pamerleau, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Texas, said in a news release. “When we hear of any alleged criminal activity involving individuals in our custody, we will investigate it to the fullest.”
