SAN ANTONIO – A woman who police said was hit and killed by a garbage truck while riding a bicycle on the far East Side has been identified.
The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 31 in the 6300 block of westbound U.S. Highway 87 near a Tiger Sanitation complex.
According to an SAPD preliminary report, 48-year-old Christina Moore was riding a bicycle in an area with limited street lighting.
At some point, the report states that Moore attempted to cross a private driveway as a garbage truck exited the property.
The garbage truck then hit Moore’s bicycle and proceeded to run her over as she fell on the road, police said.
Moore was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the report.
Since the garbage truck driver cooperated with the investigation, SAPD said no charges are expected to be filed.
