Leon Valley DPS Mega Center reopens after water pipe issues led to flooding

The mega center officially reopened for business on Tuesday morning

LEON VALLEY, Texas – The Leon Valley Department of Public Safety Mega Center is open again after water pipe issues last month led to flooding and an unexpected closure.

The facility shut down abruptly in mid-March due to water pipe issues, forcing the cancellation of numerous appointments.

At the time, DPS Staff Sgt. Dila Hidalgo said the facility at 7410 Huebner Road, which provides driver’s licenses and identification cards, was “closed due to major water pipe leaks that caused flooding inside the building.”

In a Facebook post, DPS said that repairs have since been completed at the location.

The mega center officially reopened for business on Tuesday morning, the post said.

Residents whose appointments were canceled during the closure are encouraged to check their email or text messages for updates on rescheduling.

Appointments are now being scheduled at the location.
