“Officers were on scene approximately 7 minutes after the call was made. Upon arrival, officers dealt with multiple large gatherings and issued citations for violation of the city’s Host Responsibility ordinance," Chief Stapp said.

Chief Stapp said, “Officers did not observe the fight depicted in the video as it had most likely ended prior to their arrival, and the department has not received any reports of assaults resulting from the fight.”

In the official police report provided to KSAT.com by San Marcos police, officers observed “approximately 70 people right outside door” with more people “showing up to the party now.”

Days before the rivalry game, tensions were already heated, with students from both universities feuding on social media and lashing out with insults.

Despite the video being captioned "Bloody brawl between partisans of rival Texas universities," San Marcos police could not confirm to KSAT.com that the people shown in the video were Texas State or UTSA students.
