CBP said after a thorough exam of the vehicle, 18 packages of alleged methamphetamine containing a total of 32.76 pounds of the drug, and two packages with a total of 4.76 pounds of cocaine were found hidden in the car.
Officers said the drugs carry a combined estimate street value of $494,914.
The narcotics and vehicle were seized and the driver was arrested. The case was then turned over to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation.
"Our officers utilized their experience-honed inspection skills and seized a combination drug load at Colombia-Solidarity Bridge," Port Director Gregory Alvarez said. “The significant summer heat does not deter our officers from doing their job to keep our border safe.”
