School closure, delays list for Friday, December 8

Snow across the area, possibility of black ice on roads impacting start times

SAN ANTONIO - The possibility of snow and black ice Thursday night and Friday morning is already having an impact on school start times for Friday morning.

‘Black ice,' freeze warning issued for San Antonio, surrounding areas

Below is a list of delays that will be updated as the evening progresses:

  • All Alamo Colleges will be operating on a regular schedule Friday.
  • Bandera ISD will be on a two-hour delay.
  • Baptist System School of Health Professions will open at 10 a.m. 
  • BASIS schools start at 10 a.m.
  • Blanco ISD delayed until 10 a.m.
  • Boerne ISD will be on a two-hour delay.
  • Brackett ISD will be on a two-hour delay Friday.
  • Central Catholic High School will remain open on Friday.
  • Comal ISD is on a two-hour delay.
  • Comfort ISD will be on a two-hour delay.
  • Devine ISD is on a two-hour delay on Friday.
  • Edgewood ISD to remain open as scheduled.
  • East Central ISD will begin on time Friday.
  • Fort Sam Houston ISD will be on a two-hour delay.
  • Falls City ISD will have a 2 hour delayed start and begin at 10 a.m. 
  • First Baptist Academy in Universal City is closed on Friday.
  • Floresville ISD will have a delayed start of two hours.
  • Gonzales ISD has a 2-hour delayed start.
  • Hallmark University will delay classes until 10 a.m.
  • Harlandale ISD to remain open as scheduled.
  • Jubilee Academies Charter District will be delayed until 10 a.m.
  • Judson ISD will remain open as normal.
  • La Vernia ISD is on a two-hour delay.
  • La Petite Academy will be open as usual.
  • Lackland ISD: School will begin at 9 a.m.
  • Lifegate Christian School in Seguin is delayed until 10 a.m.
  • Little Einsteins Preschool in New Braunfels is delayed until 9 a.m.
  • Luling ISD on a two-hour delay.
  • Lutheran High School of San Antonio will have a 10 am start with no shuttle service.
  • Marion ISD will be on a two-hour delay.
  • Navarro ISD will be on a two-hour delay.
  • New Frontiers Public Schools is delayed until 10 a.m.
  • New Braunfels ISD will be on a two-hour delay
  • NEISD will remain open on Friday.
  • Nixon-Smiley CISD will be on a two-hour delay Friday.
  • Northside ISD schools and offices will remain open on Friday.
  • Our Lady of the Lake University will open at 10 a.m.
  • Parent/Child Incorporated (PCI) Early Learning Centers are open.
  • Pearsall ISD delayed until 10 a.m.
  • Poth ISD - 2 hour delay start.
  • Prairie Lea High School will be CLOSED.
  • Premier High School of San Antonio East will remain open as usual.
  • Pre-K 4 SA will remain open.
  • Providence Catholic School will remain open.
  • Rocksprings ISD: School will begin at 9:30 a.m. and buses will be running an hour and half later than normal.
  • River City Believers Academy will remain open.
  • SAISD will remain open on Friday
  • Saint Mary’s Hall will be open on Friday.
  • San Antonio Academy will be CLOSED 
  • San Antonio Christian Schools delayed until 10 a.m.
  • San Marcos Academy will be on a two-hour delay.
  • Schertz Cibolo Universal City ISD will be open as normal on Friday.
  • School of Excellence in Education will start as regularly scheduled.
  • School of Science and Technology will be open as usual.
  • Seguin ISD will be on a two-hour delay.
  • Somerset ISD schools will operate on normal start times.
  • Southside ISD is will be open on Friday.
  • Stockdale ISD classes will begin at 10 a.m.
  • SWISD will be operating on regular schedule.
  • Texas A&M San Antonio is delayed until 10 a.m.
  • Texas Military Institute is on a two-hour delay.
  • UIW, Incarnate Word HS and St. Anthony HS delayed until 10 a.m.
  • UTSA -- all campuses are delayed until noon.
  • UT Health San Antonio delayed until 10 a.m.
