St. Luke's Baptist Hospital doubles NICU capacity

SAN ANTONIO – St. Luke's Baptist Hospital on Tuesday revealed the doubling in capacity of its neonatal intensive care unit.

The hospital doubled its 18-bed capacity to care for more babies in need of critical care.

The announcement comes during national intensive care unit month.

According to a news release, the expansion will allow specially trained doctors and nurses to care for infants who are born prematurely, with low birth weight, birth defects or illnesses.

All five Baptist Health System hospitals that offer labor and delivery services have a NICU.
