Dr. Is In: Finding a creative outlet

Dr. Is In: Finding a c

SAN ANTONIO – Dr. Andrew Meyer, a pediatrician with UT Health, started learning the art of pottery 15 years ago.

He said he began as a creative outlet during graduate school.

“It was a way to relax,” Meyer said. “It’s really something that can take my mind off of work a little bit, but also it can help me make some really pretty, beautiful things I can share with my friends.”

Meyer practices pottery at the Southwest School of Art with his wife and two children.

When he’s not crafting with his family, he’s serving local families as a pediatric ICU doctor at UT Health.

“I really love helping kids," he said. "It’s sad when kids are sick, but when they get better, it’s just so much better.”
