SAN ANTONIO – Meet KSAT 12’s newest Scholar Athlete of the Week: Nicolas Gomez from Harlan High School.
Nicolas is a four-year member and captain of the varsity soccer team.
He’s been named First-Team All-District, Academic All-District three years in a row and was named to the All Area Team and Defender of the Year in District 28-6A last season. Nicolas is also a member of the San Antonio FC Pro Academy.
He’s a member of the National Honor Society, maintains a 3.8 grade point average and is ranked in the top 30 percent of his class. Nicolas plans to attend college and major in business administration with a concentration around sports management.
Daniel P. Villanueva has been with KSAT 12 since 2003 and is the producer of the station's sports streaming show KSAT Sports Now. Villanueva is a graduate of St. Mary's University and is a TAPB and two-time Lone Star Emmy Award winner for sports and news. He is also a Gold Telly Award winner and a Texas Broadcast News Awards recipient.
