New Braunfels – A Comal County sheriff’s deputy who was shot in the line of duty said he is not letting his injury stop him from putting on his badge. Luna, who has served a little over 29 years at the office, recounted the details leading up to the shooting. “This particular day, something told me to have a third partner there, just in case he decided to take off or something. After learning the suspect was home, Luna and his partner made entry to serve the warrant after trying to talk him out of the home. “I told my boss the sheriff, 'Don’t get rid of my desk because I am coming back,” he joked.

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas The New Braunfels community has come together to rally behind a Comal County sheriffs deputy that was shot and injured while on duty. Deputy Eddy Luna was shot while serving a warrant in August. Since the incident, Luna has undergone several surgeries, including the amputation of his arm. A fundraiser was held Saturday at Woods Cycle Country, a local motorcycle dealership; $250 from any bike sale made will go to Luna and his family. NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – A suspect is now in custody after his alleged involvement in a shooting that left a Comal County sheriff’s deputy injured and hospitalized, according to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect was identified as Brian Scott Sharp, 59, of Spring Branch. The suspect in yesterday’s shooting has been identified as 59 year-old Brian Scott Sharp of Spring Branch, Texas. He started his career with the Comal County Sheriff’s Office in Sept. 1991 as a corrections officer before moving up in the ranks and serving as a patrol deputy, a detective in the Criminal Investigations Division and now as a warrants deputy.
