UHS girls vie in Kinchlow TuesdayThe Uvalde Lobos will host the Lytle Pirates in non-district basketball competition Tuesday. Varsity tip-off time in Uvalde High Schools Harvey Kinchlow Gym is set for 6:30 p.m. Some of the leading players for Lytle this season include forward Kiara Nixon, a 5-foot-7 senior, and guards Autumn Farias, a 5-foot-5 senior, Kylie Mask, a 5-foot-4 junior, and Adriana Rios, a 5-foot-4 junior. Nixon scored 18 points in Lytles 62-38 win over Marion, while Farias netted 17 points and Mask totaled 10 points. Fowards Abby Moreno, a 5-foot-8 junior, and Clarissia Ramos, a 5-foot-7 junior, each pulled down seven rebounds in the Marion game.

Tuesday night, the Uvalde Coyotes will be on the road to play the Lytle Pirates in basketball competition at Lytle. Preceding that contest, Uvalde and Lytle will vie in freshman basketball at 5 p.m. and in junior varsity basketball at 6:15 p.m. Following action Tuesday, the Uvalde High School freshman team and junior varsity team will be in tournament play. The UHS freshmen will play at Devine on Thursday and Saturday, while the UHS junior varsity will play at Fredericksburg Thursday and Saturday. Preceding that game will be a 1 p.m. freshman game and a 2:30 p.m. junior varsity game.
