Boerne High School is sporting some new band equipment thanks to a world-famous rock band.

Metallica has named Boerne High School a winner in its “For Whom The Band Tolls” contest.

In its second year as a state finalist, the Davenport High School band and color guard is walking away from this year’s UIL marching band competition with several top honors.
