Leaders of the county where 19 students and two teachers were killed in the 2022 shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, have voted to release records related to the massacre.

The Uvalde City Council joined county commissioners and the Uvalde CISD school board in passing a resolution calling on Governor Greg Abbott to call for a special session to change gun laws.

The Texas Department of Public Safety previously said local police made key errors. A specialized team of federal officers didn’t enter the school until more than an hour after the shooter arrived at the school.
