A team of investigators descended on a home in the 300 block of East Mayfield that they believe was the site of the gambling operation and more. The sheriff said the raid came about through a joint investigation, initiated by a tip his office had received. โI can certainly see where the neighbors would not want this sort of operation going on in whatโs really a nice quiet little neighborhood,โ he said. Investigators seized more than $4,400 in cash, the motherboards from 18 gambling machines and a stolen car.

Sheriff Javier Salazar said two people with unrelated felony warrants and an employee in charge were taken into custody. The person in charge will face a misdemeanor charge of promotion of gambling, the sheriff said. Salazar said more arrests and federal charges are anticipated in the case due to the commercial quantity of the meth. The sheriff said the bust was a joint operation between BCSO, the fire marshalโs office, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the state comptrollerโs office.

SAN ANTONIO โ San Antonio police detained 15 people in an illegal gambling bust on the cityโs Southwest Side after someone reported seeing immigrants in the back of an 18-wheeler and called authorities. The bust happened at a location in the 15000 block of SW Loop 410 on Friday night. They said they detained 15 people who were playing with the gambling machines. They said no one among the group was sick, but only about one or two people were wearing masks. The Vice Unit will further investigate this case and interview the people detained, officers said.
Woman arrested, drugs seized after illegal gambling operation bust on West Side, BCSO says
SAN ANTONIO โ A woman has been arrested after an illegal gambling operation bust by the Bexar County Sheriffโs Office on the cityโs West Side, officials say. BCSO said undercover deputies were at a home in the 100 block of Loy Drive to look for narcotics and ended up finding an illegal gambling operation. She will face a charge of facilitating a gambling operation. BCSO said deputies called the Bexar County Fire Marshalโs Office and the cityโs Code Enforcement after they found code violations in the home, including illegal wiring. Officials said deputies also found a secret room in the home, but no one was inside.
