Since January 2019, a curfew at the mall bans unsupervised teens on Friday and Saturday evenings. The mall said it had been having issues with disruptive teens for months and imposed the curfew shortly after an incident involving 60 young people gathered on North Michigan Avenue. Some were believed to be involved in an attack on people at a nearby Red Line station and the mall was forced to close early that day.

During the curfew, people will not be allowed to gather outside of their residence unless they are seeking services from a business. Q: Is exercising after 10 PM a violation the curfew? SAN ANTONIO โ€“ Fearing that the Thanksgiving weekend will end in a huge spike of COVID-19 cases, Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff and San Antonio Mayor Nirenberg have imposed a curfew, beginning from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Thursday, Nov. 26, and extending through Monday, Nov. 30. People will not be allowed to gather outside of their household during the imposed curfew, except for when seeking services from a business. The establishments may continue to offer drive-thru, curbside or takeout service after 10 p.m. and resume dine-in service at 6 a.m. during the curfew period. The amended public health order strongly encourages dine-in food service providers to only offer curbside or takeout until the curfew expires on Monday.

EL PASO, Texas โ€“ The top elected official for El Paso County, Texas, on Tuesday announced a new curfew to help combat the spread of the coronavirus, which is overrunning the border areaโ€™s hospitals and funeral homes. Samaniego said he worried many more people might die because of the worsening situation El Paso finds itself in. Earlier this month, an appeals court overturned an El Paso County order that would have closed nonessential businesses, including gyms and salons. El Paso County, which has more than 839,000 residents, on Tuesday reported 36,640 active COVID-19 cases, more than any other county in the state. Samaniego said El Paso County is currently operating 13 mobile morgues and they are holding the bodies of 236 individuals.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced a new curfew as the state faces a COVID-19 surge. The curfew will run from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for three weeks starting Thursday. "We believe this will help reduce #COVID19 spread," DeWine tweeted. DeWine spoke after a record of over 8,000 cases were reported in a single day last week. DeWine focused the order on private gatherings, not restaurants or bars.

City Manager Erik Walsh and the San Antonio Police Department recommended the curfew be lifted following several days of peaceful protests in the Alamo City. Mayor Ron Nirenberg signed a declaration that rescinded the curfew Saturday afternoon, officials said. Dallas lifts curfew put in place following violent protests

DALLAS Officials in Dallas on Saturday lifted a nighttime curfew that had been put in place after several days of demonstrations that saw multiple eruptions of violence. The curfew was lifted after consultation with Dallas Police Chief U. Renee Hall and City Council, said Dallas City Manager T.C. Weve seen many moving and peaceful protests over the last few days, some of which I joined, Broadnax said in a statement. The city of Dallas and the Dallas Police Department continue to respect and protect the rights of peaceful demonstrators.Broadnax said Dallas residents were safer staying at home due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The curfew had been announced May 31 by Hall after violent protests took place in downtown Dallas and other areas over the death of George Floyd and the treatment of black people by police.

SAN ANTONIO โ€“ San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg has issued a temporary curfew for the downtown business district and Alamo Plaza that will last until June 7, according to a news release. The curfew for the downtown business district is between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly. The Alamo installing temporary fencing to โ€˜secureโ€™ landmark during protestsThe mayor's curfew order includes all public spaces and streets within the downtown business district. The release also included the following information about the curfew:"During the hours of the temporary curfew all persons must not travel on any public street or in any public place within the designated area of San Antonioโ€™s Downtown Business District. "A violation of the temporary curfew is a misdemeanor offense punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 and up to 180 days in jail."

DALLAS Dallas police enforced a nighttime curfew by making dozens of arrests Sunday night, in a crackdown after several days of demonstrations that saw multiple eruptions of violence. Dallas police tweeted photos Sunday night as officers started making arrests, and within a few hours announced at least 70 arrests and noted there is very little activity occurring in the downtown Dallas area." We will not tolerate any more damage to our city, Hall said. Dallas also closed several downtown civic buildings to the public on Monday, including a civil courthouse and the county administration building. But other protesters still gathered outside the Capitol, and marched on city hall and police headquarters.

Hays County issues โ€˜stay at home, work safeโ€™ order

SAN MARCOS, Texas โ€“ Starting Thursday night, people in Hays County will be under a โ€œstay at home, work safeโ€ order, the city of San Marcos said Wednesday. The order for residents goes into effect at 11 p.m. Thursday and remains in effect until 4 a.m. April 10. โ€œIssued on March 25 by Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra, the order mandates that all individuals currently living within Hays County remain at home unless performing essential functions, such as certain necessary jobs and essential government functions," a statement from the city reads. Health care businesses, grocery stores, hardware stores, news media, gas stations, restaurants offering to-go and/or food delivery, and many other essential businesses will not have to close. People providing electrical, plumbing and other essential services can continue to work, as can those who work from home.
