After review, prosecutors decline to reopen case of Black man killed by San Antonio police officer
Marquise Jones was killed by Officer R. Encina Feb. 28, 2014 at 8614 Perrin Beitel. Gonzales said that Jonesโ family had also provided additional information into the shooting. However, a jury later ruled against Jonesโ family, claiming Encina didnโt use excessive and unnecessary deadly force. โThere is conflicting evidence on whether Jones had a gun,โ prosecutors wrote in their review.
