Roads reopen following 18-wheeler accident

Accident occurred on Loop 410 and W.W. White Road around midnight

SAN ANTONIO – An 18-wheeler accident briefly shut down roads on the city's Northeast Side overnight, San Antonio police said Monday.

The accident occurred around midnight on Loop 410 and W.W. White Road, not far from Binz-Engleman Road and Seguin Road.

Police said the driver of the 18-wheeler lost control on a curve in the highway, slid into the grass and jackknifed.

Both the highway and the street were shut down while the accident was cleared. A hazmat team looked at a leaking gas tank on the big rig.

The driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The road and highway have since reopened.
