USPS mail carrier crashes on North Side

Driver not seriously injured

SAN ANTONIO – The driver of a United States Postal Service mail carrier lost control of the vehicle and crashed on San Antonio’s North Side on Friday afternoon, police said.

The crash occurred along the westbound lanes of Loop 1604 access road near Hardy Oak Drive.

The vehicle jumped the curb and went over the sidewalk before coming to rest in an embankment near some power lines.

The driver avoided serious injuries and was treated at the scene.

Several USPS representatives were at the scene, but were unable to comment on the crash.

A USPS spokesperson said mail in the truck, which was headed for delivery in the 78258 zip code, was recovered and moved to another truck and still scheduled to be delivered Friday.

One lane of the access road remained closed during the investigation.
