Uber driver killed in vehicle accident on Loop 410, police say 2nd driver hospitalized in crash No description found
SAN ANTONIO – An Uber driver was killed Saturday morning in a vehicle accident on Loop 410 early Saturday morning, San Antonio police said.
The accident was reported around 5:30 a.m. on southbound Loop 410 near Culebra Road.
According to police, the driver of a black sport utility vehicle had stopped in the emergency lane and was likely getting into or out of their vehicle when a pick-up truck drove by and hit them.
The SUV ended up on the outside traffic lane and the driver landed about 15 feet from the vehicle, police said.
The man was taken to the hospital but later died.
The driver of the pick-up truck also suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive. She was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
Police say it looks like the SUV driver who was killed was an Uber driver and he had a fare in the car. But they're not sure where that person went.
