One person was killed and two others were injured in a crash involving an 18-wheeler and a tow truck on the city's South Side.

The crash was reported around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 35 near Somerset Road.

"Apparently, this heavy duty tow truck was slowing down for a work convoy, when a driver of a semi towing a trailer rear-ended this heavy duty tow truck, thus practically landing on top of the cab," said Officer Carlos Ortiz of the San Antonio Police Department.
