Car runs over teen's head after she falls off vehicle's hood, police say

Bystanders lifted vehicle off girl after it came to a stop

SAN ANTONIO – A 19-year-old girl is in the hospital after falling off the hood of a moving vehicle and having her head driven over, San Antonio police said.

The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. Monday in a Walmart parking lot in the 5000 block of Northwest Loop 410.

According to police, the teenager was horsing around on the hood of the vehicle and fell off just before being run over. That's when, police say, another driver behind them saw what was happening and pulled over to help.

Four good Samaritans helped lift the vehicle while another person pulled the teenager out from underneath, police said.

The injured girl was listed in critical but stable condition and was transported to University Hospital.

Police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
