The Collective Boutique replaces Painted Tree

When The Painted Tree Boutique filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, Angel Contero lost the only brick-and-mortar spot that carried her crafts, the business she left a medical career to build. She says other local boutiques hiked their rental rates as displaced artists scrambled for space, and wholesale orders have barely trickled in since. About 10 days ago, she set up shop again at 410 and San Pedro, in the same space, now called The Collective Boutiques, with several familiar vendors back alongside her. The bigger question nobody has answered: what happens to the money these vendors are still owed?
