Kirby councilwoman removed from city meeting

Things got heated at a Kirby City Council meeting Thursday night. Councilwoman Susan Street pushed back on the proposed budget, saying she couldn't get answers to her questions before the vote and that firefighters have waited more than four years for a raise. She argued they should make at least $20 an hour, like police officers. The city manager told her she shouldn't be "cherry-picking" which departments get what. After the mayor warned her about interrupting, the council voted 4-2 to have her removed, and she was escorted out. And this isn't the first time it's happened to her this year.
