George Strait makes surprise appearance at The Rustic

SAN ANTONIO – People enjoying an evening out The Rustic, San Antonio’s new music venue and restaurant, got an unexpected surprise when the "King of Country" George Strait made a surprise appearance on Tuesday night.

Social media users began to share pictures and videos of Strait at the far Northwest Side restaurant.

There were many people who thought Strait was set to play an impromptu set, but social media users posted that he stopped by to promote Codigo Tequila, a brand in which he partners and invests.

Strait took pictures with fans and signed bottles of the tequila, according to social media   

The Rustic’s Facebook page hinted earlier Tuesday at a possible appearance by Strait in the following post: 

“Tequila Tuesday’s are better when you’re waiting for a special guest.. #GeorgeStrait.”
