Top 5 Flavor Favs Restaurants of 2017

Did your favorite make the list?

SAN ANTONIO – This year, Flavor Favs visited 37 places all over South Texas, and the following list includes Erica's top five of the year.

#1 Wayne’s Wings - 2427 Austin Hwy.

Dwayne Price lost his food truck to a fire, but he isn’t letting that take his business away.

With his new restaurant now located on Austin Highway, Price is all smiles. His wings have been voted by delish.com as the best in Texas, and he gets our vote for the best Flavor Favs restaurant of 2017.

There are 36 kinds of wings available at the restaurant -- including a funnel cake wing -- and every one is made to order.

#2 Panifico Bake Shop - 602 NW 24th St.

This bakery has really transformed itself and is keeping up with what is trending, but is still providing the classic favorites.

From unicorn donuts and conchas to Spurs donuts, this place is worth all the hype.

The bake shop not only has new creations but classic conchas, empanadas and Mexican cookies are some of the best in town.

#3 Fratello’s Centro Citta - 115 Plaza de Armas

Not only is delicious Italian food being offered at this restaurant, but a lesson in the history of Italians in San Antonio.

Recipes from relatives that immigrated from Italy to San Antonio make up the menu, including hand-rolled meatballs.

This is Italian comfort food at its finest.

#4 Burgerteca - 403 Blue Star

While it's very new in San Antonio, there is no doubt this place features great burgers, crispy dogs and fries.

The restaurant is the latest venture for chef Johnny Hernandez in the Alamo City, and its burger features a great fusion of Mexican flavor in the American favorite.

#5 Wild Goji - 7115 Blanco Rd.

The menu features endless options of sushi, fried rice and yakitori skewers, but the standout is the ramen.

It's made from scratch every morning and the pork broth is packed with flavor.
