SAN ANTONIO – A lockdown at Timberwood Park Elementary school has been lifted after the school received word from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office that tigers are not on the loose in North Bexar County.
Deputies were called out late Tuesday morning to a home in the 27000 block of Okent, near Blanco Road and West Borgfeld Drive.
There was some concern that one of three tigers had escaped from its cage at that home.
But according to Deputy Chief Dale Bennett, with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, those tigers never left their pen.
Bennett said when sheriff's deputies arrived to investigate, they found that all the tigers were contained in their pens and none were loose.
Deputies said no one was in danger.
Bennett said the elementary school lockdown was lifted after the all-clear was given.
Bennett said Bexar County officials are reevaluating to see if the homeowner has the proper paperwork for the tigers.
