Madison HS teacher accused of relationship with student

Teacher facing termination

SAN ANTONIO – A Madison High School English teacher could lose his job for allegedly having a romantic relationship with an 18-year-old female student.

A statement from North East Independent School District said, "It was brought to the attention of the Madison administration on February 22, 2012 by a friend of the girl involved in the relationship. On that same day, the administration interviewed the student, confronted the teacher, confirmed the relationship and the teacher was immediately removed from the campus."

The teacher was removed from the campus that same day.

The teacher has not been named. He has requested a hearing in opposition of his termination.

Child Protective Services is investigating the allegations.

The charges will ultimately be handed over to the Bexar County District Attorney's Office for possible prosecution.
