A convicted child molester is accused of striking again while he was on the run from the law.
Gary Gonzales, 48, was already on the state's sex offender registry when he allegedly fondled a 3-year-old girl last summer.
Records show Gonzales was convicted of sexually assaulting a 2-year-old girl in 1994, and that he's required by law to register annually as a sex offender.
However, the same records show he hasn't done so since April 2011.
In July 2011, a 7-year-old boy came forward telling his mother that he woke up to the sound of his 3-year-old sister crying and found Gonzales in bed with her, an arrest affidavit stated.
The boy said he also saw Gonzales fondling his sister, the affidavit stated.
A warrant was issued for his arrest a short time later on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Police arrested Gonzales Monday. Along with the charge stemming from the new allegations, Gonzales faces a charge for failing to register as a sex offender.
