Man charged in 2005 murder

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A man was indicted Wednesday on charges that he murdered a woman he had contacted about buying a house in 2005.

In January 2005, 25-year-old Janiece Vitek was found murdered in her apartment on Stone Oak Parkway, Bexar County District Attorney Susan Reed said. Vitek's car and laptop were missing from her home.

Investigators discovered that Anthony Panza, 39, had contacted Vitek, a sales associate for KB Homes, about buying a property. Panza was found to be in possession of the victim's car and computer.

Panza is currently in prison serving a 20 year sentence on an unrelated charge.
