SAN ANTONIO – The chief of the North East ISD Police Department resigned after officials began to investigate claims he made inappropriate comments to other police officers.
A NEISD spokeswoman told KSAT George Castaneda, 59, had been placed on administrative leave last week following allegations of inappropriate comments on two separate occasions.

Castaneda allegedly made those comments to two male officers. District officials said Castaneda resigned on Tuesday, citing health and personal reasons.
He had been the NEISD police chief since 2006. The district has not announced plans for a permanent replacement.
