SAN ANTONIO – A 20-year-old suspect identified as Trevon Scott is facing a charge of murder for allegedly shooting a man and killing him outside an East Side nightclub.

Immediately after the shooting, officers said it appeared the shooting may have been gang-related.

However, the affidavit stated that Hastings and Scott had a prior run-in just days before the shooting, and that it had to do with a woman.

The affidavit stated that Hastings went to the nightclub with a woman, and that they ran into Scott there with a group of his friends.

It stated that they all went outside, where Hastings and Scott began arguing.

Witnesses told police during the argument, Scott pulled out a gun and shot Hastings in the head, the affidavit stated.

Hastings was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center where he died.

"Currently, the SAPD homicide unit is looking into the possibility that there may have been additional suspects in this case, " said Officer Misty Floyd, a spokeswoman for the San Antonio Police Department. "We're encouraging the public, if anyone has any information, to please step forward," she said.

After his arrest late Thursday night, Scott was booked into the Bexar County Jail.
