Missionaries of the Holy Family statement about Father Trevino

We want the faithful of the San Antonio Archdiocese to know that we continue to do everything possible to ensure a safe environment and that the Archdiocese of San Antonio and the Missionaries of the Holy Family are in full compliance with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People.  The Protecting God's Children Program, which has been in place for 12 years in the archdiocese, provides special training that is required of all local church workers and volunteers, be they clergy or not.

Fr. Alberto Trevino, MSF, was arrested 9/16/14 on a charge of indecent exposure in a public park.  This was brought to the attention of the Archdiocese and the Missionaries of the Holy Family.  Fr. Albert has served parishes in the Archdiocese with weekend assignments.  His faculties to serve as a priest have been temporarily removed until this legal matter is fully addressed.

We continue to pray for all concerned and encourage anyone who has information of suspected misconduct to contact Walter Lukaszek, Victim Assistance coordinator for the Missionaries of the Holy Family (956-457-0010).  He is readily available to serve as a liaison and facilitate a meeting and care.
