Crime Stoppers tip leads to arrest in robbery at gas pump

Delarnas McGhee, 19, identified as man in surveillance video

SAN ANTONIO – A 19-year-old man has been arrested on a charge of aggravated robbery as a result of a Crime Stoppers tip that San Antonio police received, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

A caller last month identified Delarnas McGhee as the man seen in surveillance video from a Corner Store in the 8600 block of Marbach, the affidavit stated.

Police distributed the video to local news outlets on Sept. 9, hoping to learn who robbed a 16-year-old boy and 18-year-old man at the gas pumps outside that store on Aug. 20.

The teens told police they had just finished pumping gas when two men drove up in a car and one got out, pointing a gun at them and demanding their valuables, the affidavit stated.

As a result of the tip, police said they arrested McGhee on Wednesday. He was booked into jail with bond set at $75,000.
