Castle Hills resident turns home into haunted castle

SAN ANTONIO – A Castle Hills homeowner has taken Halloween to another level this year by turning his home into a haunted castle.

Using plywood and a lot of props, Chris Scheel transformed his home into a frightfully fun place to visit.

His love for the movie "Army of Darkness" inspired him to create the spooky castle for neighborhood families to enjoy.

"Halloween is my favorite holiday and over the years participation hasn't been as big. No one puts their lights on. So hopefully I can be a big beacon of light and people can come out and trick or treat, and not be scared to go out anymore," said Scheel. 

He said he plans on continuing the tradition next year.
