THE ALLEGATIONS: On August 16, 2013, Patterson's brother told deputies Patterson charged at his vehicle with a baseball bat in his hand. He said Patterson threatened to kill him and demanded a ride to wherever he wanted to go. Patterson got into the back seat of the vehicle and said to the driver, "If he didn't give him a ride, people were going to die." The driver got out of the car and told Patterson to get out of the vehicle. Patterson hit the driver with a baseball bat to his face until the victim and another person took the bat from him. Patterson left the scene. The pair told deputies Patterson had threatened to burn down their home.
