New Braunfels man hit by train
Police believe man was sitting or sleeping on tracks
SAN ANTONIO – A New Braunfels man is in a San Antonio hospital Saturday night after being hit by a train earlier in the day.
The accident happened around 4 a.m. in the 500 block of North Live Oak Avenue in New Braunfels.
Police believe the man, Jo-Anthony Ontiveros, was sitting or sleeping on the tracks as the train approached.
The Union Pacific conductor tried to stop, but hit Ontiveros as the train came slowly to a stop.
The injured man regained consciousness while paramedics were treating him.
Ontiveros remains at San Antonio Military Medical Center Saturday night in an unknown condition.
