Man receives 40 years in prison for sexual assault of child

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A 28-year-old man was sentenced Monday to 40 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

According to District Attorney Nicholas "Nico" LaHood, Andrew Aguero accepted a plea deal last week.

A relative of Aguero reportedly found pictures and video in March 2014 of the 28-year-old performing sex acts on the victim.

The victim told authorities Aguero had been assaulting her for several years.

Investigators said they believe Aguero began assaultig the girl when she was 7.

Aguero admitted in an interview with police that he had inappropriate contact with the girl, but that it was because he was "high on bath salts."

Aguero received that maximum sentence under his plea deal.
