Shekinah Learning Center statement

"Shekinah Learning Institute's charter schools all remain fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency.  While our charter school system has received an "accredited-warned" notice level, this is not a loss of accreditation but a part of the state's complex regulatory framework for all public schools, both school districts and charter schools alike.  This is no different from the several other San Antonio area school districts who are also accredited-warned including Dilley ISD, Crystal City ISD, Charlotte ISD or others on accredited-probation such as Pearsall ISD.  We are proud to provide schools of choice for our parents and community and we urge lawmakers to review the TEA's current academic and financial accountability systems for both school districts and charter schools alike.  These systems, which were intended to be tools leading school administrators toward improvement, have evolved and are now used primarily for punitive purposes."
