Suspect leaves bloody trail after burglary

SAPD: Suspect sought in break-in at South Side O'Reilly Auto Parts store

SAN ANTONIO – A suspected burglar was injured while breaking into an O'Reilly Auto Parts store on the South Side early Tuesday morning, San Antonio police said.

SAPD officers responded to a burglary alarm around 3:30 a.m. at the O'Reilly's in the 1300 block of Pleasanton Road, and found a busted window and door.

Officers then spotted a trail of blood from where the suspect broke in over to the battery display.

The trail led outdoors and disappeared as the suspect likely got into a getaway car, police said.

Investigators also found blood on a battery that was left behind in the parking lot.

Police did not say how many batteries were stolen or release any damage estimates.

Police did not have a description of the suspect and no arrests have been made.
