Colorado City slaying suspect arrested in New Braunfels

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – A man wanted in connection with a homicide in Colorado City, Texas, was arrested in New Braunfels Wednesday, officials said.

Jason Joseph Ybarra, 42, was arrested at the Edelweiss Inn and Suites in the 1000 block of Interstate 35 North after a New Braunfels police officer spotted a suspicious car in the parking lot, according to a statement issued Thursday by New Braunfels police.

The officer discovered that the vehicle, a 2002 silver Ford Taurus, was connected to a person wanted for the Colorado City homicide.

Officers from the Comal County Metro Narcotics Task Force followed the Ybarra when he left the hotel and arrested him without incident in the 100 block of East South Street.

Colorado City detectives traveled to New Braunfels and took Ybarra into custody.
